Introduction to the Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower

The Oriental Pearl Tower stands tall in Lujiazui, Pudong, Shanghai, facing the Bund across the river. It is an iconic landmark of the city. Enjoying a meal in the 267-meter-high revolving restaurant while admiring the stunning night view of Shanghai is an extraordinary experience.

The Oriental Pearl Tower is 468 meters high and consists of 11 spheres of varying sizes, all connected to form a single structure. The design is inspired by the beautiful imagery of “big pearls and small pearls falling on a jade plate.” Visitors can ascend to three main spheres, each offering different heights from which to view the cityscape along both banks of the Huangpu River. Particularly, standing on the 259-meter-high transparent observation corridor offers a unique “skywalk” experience with panoramic views of the city. At night, visiting the observation deck to witness the vibrant lights of Shanghai’s “City that Never Sleeps” is an unforgettable experience.

The Oriental Pearl Tower also offers a world of entertainment, dining, exhibitions, and shopping. At the Shanghai Urban History Development Museum located at the base of the tower, visitors can learn about the transformation of Shanghai’s modern history. For thrill-seekers, there is a 95-meter-high “VR Roller Coaster” where you can scream and fly together. When you’re tired, head to the revolving restaurant to enjoy international cuisine and watch live cooking performances. To end your visit, you can buy souvenirs at the specialty goods floor or purchase a postcard, stamp it with the aerial post office’s seal, and send it to yourself or loved ones.
